2017 C4 CHARITY BENEFICIARIES ANNOUNCED

Each year, Cherry Capital Comic Con chooses a deserving charity to raise funds for during the convention. This year, we are announcing that funds raised from activities throughout C4 weekend will benefit TWO wonderful charities whose mission is in line with beliefs that we hold near and dear. Please consider visiting the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion booths and participating in our annual art auction on Saturday, May 27th, to benefit these amazing organizations!

THE DAISY PROJECT

www.thedaisyprojectmi.com

The Daisy Project is  a Metro-Detroit based non profit whose mission is to make the world better and more accessible for special needs children and their families. They were instrumental in getting a barrier free, special needs playground area installed at a local park, which is the first of its kind in the Metro-Detroit area. It offers wheelchair swings, a Wee Saw, some sensory equipment and in November, they installed an inclusive whirl (think merry go round) that allows special needs kids and their able-bodied friends and family to play together. This whirl was designed especially for The Daisy Project and is the first of its kind. The next big project they are tackling is to develop and install an integrative special needs baseball field that will allow people in wheelchairs the ability to participate in America’s pastime. When possible, The Daisy Project also may be able to gift an item or piece of equipment to a special needs family that will assist them. Proceeds raised through activities at the 501st & Rebel Legion booths, as well as from sales of this year’s C4 exclusive Lucas-Film licensed Star Wars patch with art by Travis Bramble, will benefit The Daisy Project.

THE HERO INITIATIVE
